Berlin, la suite.

I know this isn't really Berlin-typical but I just thought it looked cool :)

All the trams and metro and stuff are yellow in Berlin. It's pretty cool actually.

See? Yellow!

Okay, I think you got the point...

Beautiful evening in the Mauerpark

Fernsehntaurm. I was a bit disappointed by the view but I liked the elevator :) It would tell us "since we are going at 6m/s, we will be arriving in 40 short seconds
".
It was pretty damn cool.

Ich bin ein Berliner!

I hope you recognized who this is from :P I always find it funny that technically, Keneddy called himself a donut. A really good donut though. Berliners are...mmmh miam miam :)))

Here are some of the pictures I took in Berlin. Enjoy!

Summer Shoes

Summer shoes... Two words. Both of them bring a smile on your face :) So, both of them combined?... Well that means fun :D
I made a list of the (for some upcoming, for some already) it-shoes of this summer.
First of all.....: the K-jacques sandals!

This year, they're animal printed :) Leopard prints to be precise. What I think is great about them is that they're fresh because of their natural color yet fierce thanks to the print.

Runner-up for coolest shoes of the summer is...jewelled sandals!
Lots of possibilities, which is pretty darn cool, even though there are two main choices : the black sandals with "jewellry" like here:

Antik Batik

and here :

Giuseppe Zanotti

and the colorful beaded sandals like those :

Mystique

and those:

Paloma Barcelo

or, for a cheaper version these:

Gorgeous Steve Maddens

In third position, I call...WEDGES! But not any kind of wedges! Here too, you basically have two choices. On one side, the natural yet sexy wedges in nude tones (or black of course) and denim, mostly seen on Chloé runway; on the other side you have the funner version with bold colors and big prints.
So, for the classy people :
Very high Juicy Coutures (also exist in beige)

See by Chloé (also in white)

Harrison tan wedges (asos.com)

As for those who are ready to show off in sky high colorful heels, here goes :

Moschino Cheap&Chic

Miss L Sailor Wedges (asos.com)

and for a "calmer" version of the sailor shoes :
Sunny rafia Asos shoes

to be continued... ;)

It's time to pack!

What to pack : colors, prints, flats, wedges, denim shorts, cuff bracelets, fun swimsuits, fresh accessories, mini dresses (AND maxi dresses but they're not featured here)...

Berlin!

I just came back from Berlin...and I have to say I damn liked it! I was there for German lessons and I met some really cool people. Everyone came from different places and it was so ... refreshing sort of to see all the different cultures of this world. it made me realize I knew nothing, nothing! There was this really nice girl from Russia she was so cute and she made me laugh so much, she kept telling this guy that he was sexy and she wanted to know how to say bitch in all the languages. So now I know how to say stuff in Russian too! And then there were these two Italians girls that made me laugh because they paid so muc attention to how they dressed. They were always made-up and they were the only one with heels when we went to the disco... Oh well they were still nice! My roommates were the best though. There wes this girl named Paula, she spoke English, French, Spanish and she was learning german (yeah...that was impressive) and then another one from Turquie named Basak. She was great, definitely great! And then there were French people (which kinda saved me at some point) and guys from Switzerland. I liked them even though they were sorta annoying sometimes.
But I hafta say, WITHOUT A DOUBT! Spanish girls are gorgeous. I think they are the most beautiful girls ever. Paula was the most charismatic person I'd ever met and Araceli, another cool Spanish girl, had the most amazingly beautiful face you could imagine.

Anyways, this is like "culture post of the week" hahah. No but really, going to Berlin, having to mix 4 languages in one sentence to make sure I was understood, eating stuff I'd never eaten, getting to know people from half-way around the globe...that made me realise how ignorant most of us are, concerning foreign lands. I'm not saing we dont travel and we havent seen anything, but I think going away to another country with a bunch of people from Slovakia lets say is something to be done. Definitely.
Plus, Berlin is a very beautiful city :)
Photos coming soon!

Difference is what makes us beautiful

Being different helps. It helps you accepts things. And it helps accepting yourself. Be bold, be cute, be shy, be hot, be sexy, be sweet, be innocent, be goofy, be quiet. Be you :)

Think

It's really sunny today in Paris, the weather is just wonderful, I spent an hour tanning after lunch, it was GREAT. I love this outfit cause I think it's fresh, it's different but classic at the same time : like it has a lot of fashion pieces but it's twisted so that it becomes a new sort of clothes-combination.

I named this "Think" because well, I've been doing a lot of thinking these days about friendships and guys and stuff like that. The only thing I was able to come up with is : it's hard, but it's probably worth it.

Freshness

Freshness is what everyone in the fashion industry is looking for! You want people to look young, bright, nice and aimable. That's what agents, producers, artists want. That's why I really wanted to try a "fresh" look which captures a yound and breezy feeling. The first thing I put in was those shoes because, even though I'm not a huge fan of leaopard print, I absolutely fell in love with them! Aren't they just gorgeous? They've got everything I'm looking for for this summer : camel color, print, simplicity and class. Then I added the gray Alexander Wang and ruffled black skirt for the edgy classic fashion part. Then there's the feather necklace 'cause I just NEED a piece of jewelry and it was just so cute :D
Finally I put in my perfume : Nina de Nina Ricci. I think it totally fits the spring feel that's in the air and the bottle is just so cute! And for the makeup, decided to be fun and flirty so I thought of a silver shadow and green liner because they really bring out ANYBODY's eyes.

When you'e bored...

just go on amirite.net! Once you're finished with MLIA of course.
It's horrible how addicted I am to those kind of sites. (To all kind of sites actually but let's juste forget about that shall we :))

Wedges are really in this summer but to be honest, I'm not really sure I like that trend. I mean honestly, YES alright wedges are hot but they can make you look really slutty especially in shorts and tees. Personally, I think the best ones are espadrilles. These are just classy :) especially in white :)
But others...well you have to be careful with them!
But anyways, summer's coming so I think people will soon be barefoot, on the beach, with the sun...and the waves...and the birds...and the tan...and cocktails...and... Alright I gotta stop fantasizing about summer! I just can't wait :D

On va s'aimer!

On va s'aimer dans un avion, sur le pont d'un bateau! On va s'aimer à se bruler la peau, à s'envoler toujours toujours plus haut, ou l'amour est beau!!...
Ah God, best song EVER! It's...it's just...it's AMAZING! Most beautiful, romantic, moving and yet groovy funky song!! :D
I can't stop listening to it!
I am SO in love <3

Hope all of you guy's heart belongs to somebody special :)

Chanel Nail Polish

I'm feeling very nail-polishy these days. My favorite colors to wear are orange-pink, blue, silver and deep purple. I think they look great with everything. But I'm particularly inspired by Chanel Vernis! All the colors are unique, fresh, gorgeous and chic.

The taupe one is a great response to the nude trend we have in the moment. It's totally unexpected, yet refined and it adds a little diversity to the camel/beige color we see right now.

This one too, is a refreshing twist to the nude trend.

Just like this one! Its tone is a bit more pink but it has the same natural ethnic feel as the others. I love all three of them! I think they'd go great with anything.

This one, Jade, is a bit more special. It's like a watery color and it's SUPER unusual for nail polish but I thought that it was a great idea. Really, it's classy and fun so I vote yes :)

This last one is named Vendetta. It's a really electric (a bit glittery) blue/purple. It's like a blue-ish aubergine. I would totally see it on someone for a party or even a normal day it it's mixed with bright colors like beige or white.

Boys, boys, boys!

I'm in love with this song! Hahaha no seriously, it's so retro-glam it's crazy! Lady Gaga's voice is perfect for that kind of kitsch songs :)
Lady Gaga is great anyways, my sister and I have dance contests every evening on her songs. We just put the limewire playlist on repeat and WASHA!!
Oh yeah, and another "song of the moment" is D.A.N.C.E by Justice. It's the same old seventies feel, I really like it and it's so catchy!

Paris

Well, I don't feel like going into a deep, constructed explanation of this look, so I'm just gonna point out a few things. Like the really cool sunglasses and the AMAZING Marc Jacobs' watch (and tote). I think they're some of the coolest pieces I've used so far!
I named this set "Paris" 'cause anyone wearing that with the right attitude in Paris would definitely turn heads.

High

Basically, to me, this is a kick-ass outfit. I love these Ann Demeulemeester motor boots paired with the just-as-masculine white shirt, both tamed down by the girly details like the short shorts and gold bracelet. I think the shirt should be worn open so that you can see the sport yet chic tank top. I also wanted to give an ethnic feel and the feather earrings do that pretty well :) The transparent Prada bag adds a sort of modernity.
It's a total spring look!

12 mai 2010

Marc by Marc Jacobs

I just feel like this look is a total Marc-Jacob-New-York-Chloe-Sevigny-Sienna-Miller-y look. It's colorful, it's summery, it's fresh, it's young, it's simple yet edgy. Ann D.'s heels and t-shirt bring the edgy coolness to this pop look : the colors and bold prints on Marc Jacob's skirt are tamed down by Ann D.'s chic clothes. Plus, you can wear this with both flats and heels so it's perfect for a busy day.
I would totally see myself wearing this on a daily basis.

Gray is the new black

Or at least that's what they say. I decided to put together a natural, casual yet classy look so I went for pretty earthy and discreet tones such as this woody brown and the black/gray mix. Even though, I thought the bracelet and necklace really edged out the laid-back romper and vest. Plus, Yves Saint-Laurent shoes are gorgeous :)

Summer

What inspired me to create this look was the new mix-and-match trend : that's why I put in liberty shorts, sportswear top, pop shoes and a chic vest. Plus I love vibrant eye colors so I threw in a little green liner and strawberry chapstick to keep lips hydrated all over the up-coming summer :)

Animosity

I don't really know why I called this set animosity, it's just the first word that popped into my mind... I don't really know what my conscience is trying to tell me :P
Anyways, i decided to try out for nightwear 'cause, as you might have seen, the looks I've created are pretty "unformal". So I paired this gorgeous nude bustier dress with long pendant blue earrings for the "chic" part and added leopard print (Alexander Wang bag) and edgy platform shoes (Proenza Schouler) to boost the outfit and give it some youth. Then I finished with a fur vest for the "yes-i-AM-original-and-ain't-i-cool-in-my-fur-vest-that-looks-like-i-got-it-in-a-thrift-store-but-really-i-didn't" part. And in the end, I gotta say, I was pretty satisfied...

Androgyne

I think you can pretty much guess why I named this "androgyne" huh? The electric blue masculine shoes and the white shirt make it understable paired with the gold cuff and feminine lace vest make it understandable! But really I think it's because when you look close into it, you see that every particular item is androgyne on its own. Take the shirt for example : at first glance, it's a typical white shirt which you would totally see on a man with a tux. But take a closer look and notice the sleeve lenght and detail. Isn't that just so much more classy? And the lace vest : totally girly (maybe even oldy) (I'm not quite sure if "oldy" exists but you know what I mean). But who wears vests in the first place? Men! So the lace, even though it covers the whole piece, is just a feminine detail. And the gold cuff reminds of those things men put on their shirts' sleeves you know? In french they're called "manchette" but I have NO idea what they are in English. The shoes too have both a masculine AND feminine feel. The gladiator vibe toughens the heels and the electric color reminds me of spring and flowers (and withough being sexist of course) which make me think of a woman's smile. And finally (DRUM ROLL PLEASE) the master, central, most important piece of the look (dadadadadaddadam) THE SHORTS. Ahh yes, now these Alexander Wang shorts have got us talking haven't they? They're super feminine (laced up, bow, and they're SHORTS you know so the feminity part doesn't really need to be justified) yet totally masculine! The fact that they're in black leather (personally I think it's like a wink to bikers and their usually hot chicks) toughens up the whole thing and really de-feminises them.
I'm rather proud of this look :)

Double Take

Yes, I know my titles are VERY original! But, well at least you get the point. So I totally fell in love with these pants, especially cause of the color and the bow and the originality and...and just the whole cool pants concept :P
I figured it would be cool to show two different kinds of look that pretty much anyone could pull of with them. Number 1 here we have : THE coolest brogues ever! Dries Van Noten recaptured this Chanel essence which he paired with unexpected material (can't remember what it's called, will anyone help me?) to recreate his own vibe in those bicolor spring/summer shoes. To add up to that, I put in a Chanel chic and always in fashion bag and a gold bracelet and Michael Kors watch. For the more urban-less expensive touch, I went for this Alexander Wang tank top (well, this one is rather expensive, I mean 995 for a TANK TOP what is this all about people?!) which I layered with a cropped flamingo-printed tee. Definitely. Cool.
Number 2 : on the other hand I went for a sorta similar but still different look. Once again, we have an Alexander Wang tank top (I didn't look a the price on this one!) this time with ruffles and Alexander Wang bag. Very zippery (?) and camel = very now. And I just HAD to put these Ann Demeulemeester shoes because I just can't get over them! I have no other explanation for the glasses except for the fact that they're cool and it's gonna be summer soon :) They're also Alexander Wang. What I liked in this look was the gradation of brown/camel/nude/white which completely clashed with the super color of the super pants :)

Remember

Here again, I went for the sporty feel of the Alexander Wang top (no really, no lies, it's really a bra people) that I paired this time with Miu Miu printed Babies. Best shoes ever. EVER. I wanted to add a little "still chic and classy even with only a bra on" touch so that's why I went for the bicolor look. And notice the little bows on the shorts. Aren't they cool? I finished off this look with a tan leather bag that adds casual edginess to this ensemble.
Oh yeah and I threw in a little sparkly (that word is SO out since Edward Cullen came into our lives, so I'm sorry people, but I really like it) top to put over the bra for the night so that the black is still visible but you're still ready for a night out :)

Sunny Impression

Well, even though it's not ACTUALLY sunny these days (no seriously, here in Paris it feels like we're in november!) Im totally in the mood for summer :) I cant wait to wear my new swimsuits on the hot beach with the cool waves...ah yes now that feels good :) Well back to the point : I have a feeling (that tonight's gonna be a good night!) that this summer's biggest trend is going to be : geometrical clothes with pop touches. Like here for example, with the graphic black and white pattern which plays with the colors of the shoes and tees. The burlesque feel of this swimsuit fits perfectly with the masculine but sultry look of the hat and modernity of the translucent bag. Plus, you can either marry it with classic sexy black heels or pop, colorful wedges.
It's with the same new-look feel that I had the idea to match these Mark Fast undies with the print T-shirt as well as the cool retro sunglasses.
Really, summer can't come too fast!

Polymore!

And that's 8! Yes 8 addictive sites now :D And of course, Polyvore is the latest one. It's really creative, it's a great concept in general! You can create thousands and thousands of looks, outfits and even interior deco styles. There's stuff from every brand and it's really easy to find what you want, plus it makes you discover tons of new things. Really, I love the idea of an online site where you can create and design without actually having to BUY anything :P
So I decided I was gonna post my looks on this blog 'cause I really wanna share them. They take a lot of concentration actually but the effort you put into them is worth it : it feels so good seeing the results of your imagination!

I'll be posting!

Fort Minor

Just poppin' by to tell you about some music I love : Fort Minor. I think they're great because they're not the typical trashy rap that we always hear but they still have the edge a rap group needs. Plus their songs are really catchy :P Like "Where'd you go?" and "Remember the name", I can't stop with these :)
Anyways just hope you like it if you don't already.

Pénélope!

So maybe you've already guessed, but I decided I was also going to write in English one this blog cause it's much more natural sometimes. Anyways, I found out about a blog named "ma vie est tout a fait fascinante" and it's really great :) It's a funny little blog about a 25 year old who draws everything that happens in her day. It's quite entertaining and it's different from all the other kinds of blogs I've seen yet. Like it's not just a fashion blog or anything it's a sort of mix between diary/fashion reports/music tastes... Just life you know!
I'll give you some news on D.C. soon.

Bow Down

I just bumped into these gorgeous Matthew Williamson heels on Polyvore.com (really cool site where you can create looks and get tons of inspiration too) : they're high, they're pop, they're hot, they're colorful and they've got bows. Perfect mix. I completely fell in love with them! Have a look yourself.
I'd totally wear them with a black and white tux.

My favorites

The best part is the edginess the texture and shape give to these shoes. Just genius.

Deja la rentrée...

Eh oui c'est bien vrai, bien réel, bien la, bien.... Bref c'est la rentrée. Back to school, back to homework, back to le train-train quotidien, back to le réveil-pire-que-super-enervant-le-matin-qui-te-force-a-te-lever-alors-que-t'as-qu'une-envie-c'est-de-rester-bien-au-chaud-sous-la-couette. Bon je sais j'ai l'air déprimée mais... c'est parce que j'ai toujours une pointe d'excitement d'habitude a l'idée de rentrer et la beeeen non. Genre pas du tout. J'etais tellement bien a washington.
